Governments Challenge - Do More with Less

We the people have had to look long and hard at our income stream, our wants and our needs to strike a balance between these things. Some of us have found the hard reality was a devastating loss of house, home and retirement security.

Companies of all shapes and sizes have had to take a long hard look at their income stream, their clients/customers and business model to strike a balance between these things. Some of us have found the hard reality was closing the doors of a business built from scratch.

The time has come for government to take a long hard look at our income stream, our wants and our needs to strike a balance between these things. Cutting back on waste fraud and abuse is fine but I'd bet an efficiency expert is likely able to combine a few departments and agencies to make government more functional.

Let there be no misunderstanding, in some cases the time has come to reinvest in today's technologies in order that our government deliver more seamless products and services to the citizen, electronic versus paper tax documents is a perfect example.
